About Me!

Who I Was, Who I Am, And Who Cares?

I am a musician. A hearing impaired one. Is that not the most absurd thing you've ever heard? But please, for a moment distract yourself from the image your mind is instantly drawn to of some teenage kid smashing away at random notes and singing miles off-key since he can't hear himself. I was not always hearing impaired, and through alot of effort, I still have some semblance of an idea of what sounds acceptable.

I had always been passionate about music, ever since a young age. I played at school events with "bands" (generally just consisting of my friends and I fooling around) all through early grade school. Later on, however, I decided to take stuff a little more seriously. For those of you who do know me, you know the potential for seriousness is not actually very high though.

This is not to say, however, that I believe that I am the next Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, or Jimi Hendrix. I understand that I am nothing more that your run of the mill high school musician. I miss notes. Lots of them. Some days its sounds more like a bad snowblower getting jammed (forgive my winter reference, its starting to get cold outside) than a song when I sit down to play. But I love it. I love making mistakes and laughing about how much further I have to go before I can be considered a true musician. Its my mistakes and short-comings that make learning music exciting for me. And there are certainly alot of mistakes and shortcomings. They are like a hobby for me!

And there is my inspirational Lifetime-channel-movie style post for the day. Go ahead, cut it out and hang it on your refrigerator next to "Marmaduke". You know you want to.
